I upgraded from a quality side awning and have not been let down with the function and quality of my next Openroad 270 XL awning with D-zipper. The fit, form and function of the Openroad awning is second to none, and I am very happy that I chose this awning over others that I was considering.

Amazing, I love it! Is fitting perfectly on our patrol! I love the light they are really good and set up is super easy! Highly recommended!!
I am very impressed with the build quality and would only suggest a couple of things 1: on the boxing out a front if awning arrow or sticker. I actually unboxed it on my racks and got it the wrong way not a big deal 2: the instal was straight forward and I was hoping to do a video of it but my tripod kept on getting blown over so that didn’t happen 🤣 but was easy to install 3: the retainer bolts for the inside of my rails were a bit small and had to put washers on them just to get a bit more purchase 4: the guys ripped having to be tied onto the awning is a pain in the ass you’ll see my solution in the video was hoping to find some small Carabinas but none in town. 5: tie down pegs even if it added a few more dollars to the final product to have them as heavy duty drill in ones would be much better and I’ll be buying a set in the next few days. Overall a fantastic product built with quality and longevity in mind. Hope you can understand the video
Only used once so far but the awning seems solid! Heaps of room inside the walls we put the swag under it this time but can easily be used at a common area for 3+ people. The only downside is delivery time took a while

Reasonably Easy to install on my existing roof rack, was a 2 person job. Very simple to pull out and put into position and plug the lights into my already existing plug. We have not yet used it longer than to try it and putting it back into the cover will need another practice but it looks amazing, great coverage, love the easiness of how the poles just come down, can still open my rear door, will definitely be able to use this on my own which is what I was looking for and a great price for what seems like a sturdy great looking awning.
Good quality and very reasonably priced. Will give it a bush run this week.
Easy to setup. Brilliant build quality. Not heavy at all is a bonus. Definitely worth it.
Couldn’t be happier with the OpenRoad freestanding 270° awning. The quality and build are spot on, it’s super easy to set up and pack away, and having a fully freestanding design makes it perfect for quick stops or setting up camp without stuffing around with poles. It gives heaps of coverage around the back and side of the ute and feels really sturdy once it’s out. It’s already become a great addition to the touring setup and I’m looking forward to putting it through plenty more trips and adventures. Definitely recommend it if you’re after a quality 270° awning that’s built for touring.

I absolutely loooove this awning! 🙌 It’s so easy to install — I put the whole thing up all by myself. Yeah the girls! 💪 It’s the perfect fit for my little VW Caddy Maxi campervan and the one person setup and pack-down is a game changer. I’m honestly so impressed with the quality, features and value for the price. It has integrated LED lights and built-in legs, but even in strong winds, I’ve found it to be really stable without the legs. I did a lot of research before choosing a 270° freestanding awning, and in my opinion, this is the best on the market. 🙌 Absolutely love it and couldn’t be happier with my choice! ☀️🚐💨🏄♀️

Great chair, feels a lot sturdier than I thought it would with the compact lightweight design. The swivel feature is awesome, no poor breaking your neck to look over your shoulder or talk to someone behind you.

Very neat, easy to use and has great coverage. The lights make it so easy. Would just like a little more run off angle in those wet periods.
I love my 270 plus . I have the wall kit also . Am I missing the wall that zips on against the front of the car . There's a zipper there for one but no zip on wall in the bag . I would like to see some velcro straps on the end walls so you could secure it to the end poles? Thanks Mark .

It is not often that I review but I am so happy with these chairs that I feel that it would help others, like me, who are looking for a comfortable, compact, light sturdy well designed chair. The padded head rest is great and makes relaxing back easy. It is so easy to erect and fits into its carry bag easily. We have a small motorhome where space is at a premium and didn't want to store anything on the bed while travelling. These fit easily into our inner storage cupboard. We also love the feet as they have a larger base so you don't sink into the ground. The swivel is great and makes tucking yourself under a table so easy. I am 65kg and my husband is 88 kg. The only thing we didn't like was not being able to try it out but after watching a video decided to risk it. It has turned out to be a very happy ending.

For the price the build quality is amazing. This is my first ever 270 awning so it's definitely set the bar pretty high for me... Love the built in lights, poles and ease of use. Only downfall for me was I had to cut some of the bolts and fixings to suit my roof-rack slots but otherwise no issue got it done!
Sorry, it’s taken a while for the review…. Been busy, the moment I received it I wacked it on and off l went Ha. TBH, for price and my first ever 270 degree awning I’m shocked. The LED lights are a bonus. Quality and installation is so simple & great… Just abit harder if you’ve got a 2.4m high car. Overall if l could give it 5 stars I would. 10/10 rating l will. Price, delivery, budget and quality is exceptional you can’t complain or go wrong with the extra room. The price… It was very good including shipping. l didn’t really look at other brands or competitors. I was more drawn to the black to match my car and RTT, led lights and how everyone who purchased it was happy. I went with the XL awning and would recommend it to anyone that is looking at an awning. Don’t get the standalone one get the 270 because Bigger is always better!
