Still building my ultimate touring 4wd, and 180 degree Open Road awning will be a major and vital part of the set up. Looking forward to adding sidewalls and endwalls to complete the rig and setting off.

Very Easy to setup and pack away, however the straps it comes with to secure it wouldn’t ever be long enough… I had to add my maxtrax straps to each side to make them long enough to tie back to the roof rack. The T nuts provided didn’t suit my rhino rack vortex roof bars but may suit others. I did have an issue with the lock nuts not wanting to be undone and breaking a bolt, after that I decided it was best to use aftermarket nut and bolt accessories with spring washers to prevent that happening again. Brackets provided are very solid can be mounted both ways. Happy with the quality of the awning material it’s very water proof, water just slides off it. The USB cord for the lights has plenty of length so think it would suit most people’s use cases. Plugs into USB A port.

Love it. Easy to set up and pack down, not too big and bulky but enough to take shelter under with a family/small group. Have used it about 8 times and no issues. Doing the lap next year with our family and stoked we have this onboard. Seems well built, not too heavy and is great value.

Overall I’m super happy with this awning! Easy install, set up and pack up. Definitely need a couple of hands for installation. 4 stars out of 5 because mine had come broken. The awning connection that holds the corner of the material to one of the metal beams was broken but luckily a small screw drilled into the connection spot resolved the issue. Other than that this awning is awesome! Good size and cool features. Will definitely have a lot of use coming up

* This is an initial review * Pros: - Sturdy construction and still strong enough if you are only using 2 brackets but would highly suggest being more cautious if wind becomes a thing when camping. - You get good quality for the price you pay - Has a little stand thingy to help rain drain off the roof - Has tie down at the middle of every part of the awning so water will not pool - Included lighting and wiring which is a big plus so it means I don't need to mount lighting - Built in main 2 front legs so if you need to tie down it's super quick and more importantly easy. - The zipper bag that protects the awning when not in used is oversized so makes packing up an absolute breeze. - Straps that hold the awning when packed up are girthy and seem heavy duty Cons: - I wish the hardware that was included worked with Rhino Racks and found this surprising as I have never come across this issue with other awnings or anything mounted to my racks. The problem was the base were not long enough so when you went to tighten them nothing was happening. Had to buy my own to make it work. - This one probably the biggest oversight, the included straps so you can taught the awning are wayyyy to short with what the manual was wanting you to do and will end up buying my own. - This is just me and my expectation but some bolts were a smidge loose (glad you guys have a warning label right in front of you) I understand shipping and what not could possibly cause bolts to come loose but wasn't expecting it. - The small bars that were holding the straps were crooked - Mine actually arrived damaged, not to the point of not being able to use it but was surprised especially with how well packed it was and the box was undamaged so seems like someone just didn't see it. I know this company is fairly new to the AUS market but I really hope in future QC stuff gets a little more comprehensive and something I am definitely hoping to see in future is different hardware and longer straps. I will be totally honest I paid $650 for the awning so having the odd hiccup of not good hardware is ok and I wasn't expecting a lot from the awning even though it is pretty good for what you pay but if I had paid the original price of $1100 I would have been super upset with the purchase. Hope this review serves you and other customers well and will update once I get to use the product out in the real world. Reegan

Super fast shipment and incredibly quick customer service responses right from the start! I only installed the awning today, but the setup was an absolute breeze. We did a quick test run to see how it looked on the car, and it is seriously awesome. Very happy with the purchase—it feels incredibly sturdy, looks great, and the build quality is top-notch. Haven't taken it out on a proper trip just yet, but I can't wait to get it out into the wild. So far, so good!

Awesome awning! Not a complaint necessary but I found the tensioning straps to be a bit short for my set up so maybe keep that in mind when you first set it up

Did a lot of research to make my final decision even though it covers a smaller area than some competitors products. Love the inbuilt lighting and support legs. Just a great bit of kit. Have not had to use the feature yet but the 2 stubby canopy supports for rain…. Brilliant

Delighted with our 180° awning. Easy to fit to roof rails. Enhanced our camping experience 10-fold. Looks great with our new Ute. Inbuilt lighting worked a dream. Easy to stow away. Genuinely couldn’t be happier.

Easy to mount depending on your roof rack, other reviews were saying the straps were not long enough but I found them perfect to pull back from bullbar and tub rack 👍, great product for price!

We've been looking at a variety of 270 awnings and decided on the 270+ Openroad . It comes with absolutely everything you need to set it up and secure it . 6 poles (4 fitted 2 in a bag ) . Guy ropes and tent pegs . Best of all are the 4 built in 3 stage lights with an attached bag to put your powerpack . Easy to set up and pack away too . A couple of attachments on the awning arms to help with water drainage is a practical touch as well . A perfect package for us at a brilliant price for such a quality product . I'll be getting the wall kit next .

Awning has been awesome so far! Super fast delivery and easy to mount. We had 60mm of rain the first night of camping with it and it held up perfectly. Would recommend

Super quick delivery, right from the outset when you open it up you get a sense of quality. I purchased the 180deg and fitted onto an Offroad Animal Scout roof rack on my VX Land-cruiser 300. No clash with the rear door. When driving I didn’t notice any increase in wind noise either. I would recommend that the two securing straps be about 300mm longer as I struggled to find a good place to tension them from. I would highly recommend this.

We have put our 180 deg awning on our Everest, love how it all fits nice on the car, have coupled it up with a set of Croc Hinges and if all tucks away nice on the roof rack. Great stuff team, quick delivery and awsome bit of gear. We will be well protected from the Pilbara sun now.

Amazing product, strong and perfect for all cars, the freestanding awning is strong and handle's the wind quite well.

After using it on a couple of day trips, I can't live without it now. Super easy to set up, like it takes me under 4 minutes to set it up in freestanding form and then I'm just chilling in my camp chair watching my mates set up their old style awnings while enjoying a cold drink and having a good laugh. The less time you spend setting up camp and the more time you spend enjoying camp the better!

Great quality and even better price! Didn’t know what to expect for something that is so much cheaper than the other brands but I’m really impressed. Build quality is great, the welds look perfect, the fabric is very good quality and thickness, the lights work well. Keen to get the side walls now too.

Mounted the 180 degrees awning on Thule Wingbar Evo on the roof of Ranger. Stretched the crossbars as far as I can. Mounting is very easy with 2 person doing it. Very steady and stable. Good quality frame and canvas. Easy to open and close. Only complaint is that website states the length of the awning as 190cm but it is really 210+ cm. This is important to me as I want minimum overhang since I am mounting it on the roof of a dual cab on crossbars. Anyway, it turned out ok. Thrilled with the end results.

Evening off-road trip with the 180 awning – quick setup, solid build, and makes a huge difference when the sun starts to drop. Great piece of gear!
Mason W. 5/5
Great quality for the price. Easy to set up and back down solo. Installation guide was non-existent and tie down straps weren't as advertised. But other than requiring some customising, it is a great product!
