Whether your tailgate will clear the awning depends on your roof rack height and how high your tailgate opens. As a rule, you’re good to install if:
A=Roof rack height above the vehicle
B=Tailgate open height
B < A + 2.5 cm

How to pack away my awning
When you roll the awning back, push each hinged arm toward the housing so the fabric and zipper stay aligned — this prevents the canvas from bunching and makes the zipper easy to close.
Tip: do one arm at a time and don’t force the zipper; realign and try again.

I love my 270 plus . I have the wall kit also . Am I missing the wall that zips on against the front of the car . There's a zipper there for one but no zip on wall in the bag . I would like to see some velcro straps on the end walls so you could secure it to the end poles? Thanks Mark .
I love this thing. Easy one person set up and makes a simple overnighter so easy! To quote my 22 year old daughter - “the canopy thing looks sick!” Haha

Amazing! Delivery was super fast. Such simple installation and didn’t need the manual. I used my existing heavy duty brackets. Quality is amazing and easy to open up and pack away. The extra storage is a great addition. Plenty of room in bag when packing up. I haven't plugged lights in yet but love this feature as well as the poles of needed in windy conditions. This one is actually more compact than my old 270 awning. Love this!
Loving my new open-road awning and walls! The awning on its own held up in 40 knot wind gusts using just the provided tie downs! I have since upgraded to the tie gear awning bungies just to be safe. The walls mean I will be able to camp just with the car in summer ... but over winter I added my Quest Air Tent and it fits like a dream! So much easier and quicker for an older, single lady to manage! I notice some blue and black zips on the car side of the awning ... am I right to be super hopeful that additional walls will be able to be purchased to make the set up completely weather proof?

Absolutely love our 270 plus awning. It’s very hard to find a functional warning that is easy set up for one person. I am able to use this awning while I am at home with the kids and don’t need a second adult to assist. When we set up at the beach we no longer set up multiple awnings on family days. We all just sit underneath the one size as there is so much space. We have had nothing but a positive experience with the customer service team. Great product and great customer service
The awning itself is absolutely amazing. It arrived within 24hrs which is ridiculously great. The awning walls are great with the coloured zips and numbering. Great idea and very helpful. The walls have nothing really substantial to peg them down only two eyelets. This things always tend to rip out and the middle bit of the wall flaps around and you can’t get it right. Im super happy with my openroad 270deg awning, I haven't put the walls up yet but will get to that. Well worth the money thats for sure.
Overall very happy with the awning, easy set up & pack up as far as 270 XL awnings go they always seem to have an awkward overlap when packing up but can’t be helped. Once I get time I will start looking at retrofitting the lights so there is just one central plug on the external so it can stay connected full time and switched inside the canopy as is everything else. Had a failure of the pegs draw bad string on the first closing Fingers crossed 🤞 it’s not a sign of things to come. Also not decal with the awning at all 🙄
Great awning! Came with a very small tear near the back corner but no worries, I put a small piece of tear tape on it! I must congratulate Mark because his return emails were quick and very informative!! Great company to deal with! Looking forward to many years of use and enjoyment!

I love it but after only 2 nights of camping, 3 of the lights refuse to turn off or change colour when plugged in which shouldn't happen only weeks after purchase. Other than that it is great!

It bolted straight up to the side of my “tradies rack” on the cruiser and deploys in seconds. The integrated lighting is really functional with different intensity settings. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Happy with the Openroad 270plus awning. Should make camping trips more enjoyable main for shade where we live. One suggestion would be to make the 3 straps a bit bit longer on the topside , very hard to reach and pack up with a lifted 4wd but besides that all good.

Can’t fault the open road 270 awning. We went out four-wheel driving and we’re expecting 40 km winds and had no issues at all. She’s easy to open up and easy to put away. Highly recommend!
Excellent quality. Great awning for the price. Would recommend! I love it. It also has the pop ups to help rain drain off. I never realised it came with them, which was a bonus haha.
